Recommended Parrotlet Exhibition Policy & Procedure For IPS Parrotlet Shows

1)      Parrotlets can be judged be judged in a separate show prior to the judging of other parrots in the Parrot Division.  

2)      Placement of parrotlets in the Parrot Division will be done without consideration of the parrotlet’s placement in the previous Parrotlet Show.  Parrotlets are to be judged on their merits at the time of the Parrot Division. 

3)      Parrotlet exhibitors will have their paperwork completed and the parrotlets benched NO LATER than two hours prior to the official start of the Parrot Division show unless otherwise directed by the show manager and/or judge.

 4)      Judging of parrotlets should start no later than an hour prior to the start of the Parrot Division Show unless otherwise directed by the show manager and/or judge.

 5)      The Second Vice President shall be in charge of ordering and shipment of the awards. Extra show tags and entry forms will be available from the IPS Secretary upon request. 

6)    The IPS Secretary shall send to the judge NO LATER THAN 1 MONTH PRIOR TO THE SHOW: IPS Parrotlet Exhibition Standards, IPS Classifications, IPS Recommended Show Policy & Procedure, IPS Judges' Form and a self-addressed envelope for return of the Judges' Form.  

7)    All affiliated IPS shows will receive, from the IPS Secretary: IPS Parrotlet Exhibition Standards, IPS Classifications, IPS Recommended Show Policy & Procedure and IPS Parrotlet Secretary's Book  in their affiliation packages or at the time of renewal.

8)      All judges, until such time as IPS certifies its own parrotlet judges, will be judges certified either by the Society of Parrot Breeders & Exhibitors or the North American Parrot Society, Inc.

 9)      Both SPBE and NAPS will receive a copy of the IPS Parrotlet Exhibition Standards and this Exhibition Policy & Procedure

10)  Exhibitors will enter the same cage number on the Parrotlet Show tag as the cage number received by the exhibitor at registration for the Parrot Division if separate tags are not provided unless otherwise directed by the show manager and/or judge.

11)  Cage tags should be attached on the left side of the cage unless otherwise directed by the show manager or stewards.

12)  Judging will be done the manner and accordance with the procedures used by the Parrot Division judge for the judging Society.

13)  The judge will complete the IPS show report and return it to IPS, PO Box 2428, Santa Cruz, CA 95063 NO LATER THAN 10 DAYS FOLLOWING THE SHOW.

14)  After the judging of the Parrotlet Show, the IPS cage tag will be removed and put aside for the exhibitor. Parrotlets are then restaged on the tables in the Subdivision, Section and Class for the judging of the Parrot Division Show.

15)  Only members of the International Parrotlet Society showing banded birds will be allowed to accrue points with IPS for their parrotlet’s placement.
